Picnic Weddings
Weddings are a deeply personal celebration, and no two weddings are ever the same. A picnic-style wedding offers an affordable alternative to a traditional ceremony, creating a relaxed and intimate atmosphere while allowing for a shorter event timeline if desired.
Your wedding picnic can be held almost anywhere you choose—whether it's in a beautiful garden, your own backyard, on the beach, or beside a peaceful river. Exchange your vows at your favourite location and either move on to another venue or stay right where you are, laying out picnic rugs, hay bales, or beautifully decorated tables. The flexibility to celebrate somewhere meaningful to you makes a picnic wedding truly special.
Catering can be tailored to suit your personal tastes, style, and theme. Rather than a fully staffed formal service, beautifully presented finger foods and handheld menu options can be delivered ready to enjoy at your dream location. This approach creates a relaxed dining experience while still feeling elegant and memorable.
Decorate the space yourself or enlist the help of professional stylists if you'd like assistance bringing your vision to life.
Catering Options for Every Celebration
When you choose picnic-style catering, the menu can be designed around the time of day, your preferences, and your budget.
Mid-morning ceremonies can be followed by a delicious picnic-style lunch.
Mid-afternoon celebrations might feature individual charcuterie bowls, luxe picnic boxes, or a grazing table filled with delicious options.
Late-afternoon and evening weddings can embrace a chic cocktail-style experience with elegant canapés and shared grazing platters.
Whether you're planning a casual gathering or a sophisticated outdoor celebration, picnic-style weddings offer endless flexibility, beautiful surroundings, and a relaxed atmosphere for creating unforgettable memories.
Perfect for Afternoon, Second-Time, and Surprise Weddings
Picnic-style weddings are particularly suited to afternoon celebrations, second-time marriages, and surprise weddings. Their relaxed and informal nature allows couples to focus on what matters most—celebrating with the people they love—without the expectations or expense of a traditional wedding format.
For couples marrying for a second time, a picnic wedding offers a meaningful and intimate way to mark the occasion. Afternoon weddings lend themselves perfectly to grazing tables, picnic boxes, cocktails, and lawn games, creating a casual yet elegant atmosphere.
Surprise weddings are also becoming increasingly popular. Imagine inviting family and friends to what they believe is a birthday party, engagement celebration, or casual gathering, only to reveal that they're about to witness your wedding ceremony. A picnic-style setting provides the perfect backdrop for these unforgettable moments, allowing the day to unfold naturally and effortlessly.
Whether you're planning a simple celebration, a second chance at "I do," or a surprise event your guests will never forget, a picnic-style wedding offers flexibility, charm, and a truly personal experience.
Grazing Tables... With a Practical Twist
We would love to tell you that we create the most spectacular, fully styled grazing tables—and we absolutely could. However, after years of catering weddings and events, we've learned that sometimes the most beautiful option isn't always the most practical.
Grazing tables became incredibly popular in the wedding world several years ago, and it's easy to see why. They look stunning, create a real "wow" factor, and make for beautiful photographs. What many people don't realise is that they can take a considerable amount of time to build, look picture-perfect for only a short period, and often appear quite picked over within minutes of guests arriving.
During the warmer months, we're also mindful of food safety. Food can be exposed for extended periods while the table is being assembled and throughout the event as guests continue to graze. Add summer temperatures, insects, and outdoor conditions into the mix, and it becomes something we need to carefully manage.
Our solution
Instead of a traditional grazing table, we recommend using our beautifully prepared grazing platters. These can be arranged together to create the same abundant, luxurious look while offering much greater flexibility and food safety.
Platters can be displayed in a long, grazing-table style or elevated on rustic logs, small tables, crates, and decorative stands to create visual interest and varying heights. You'll still enjoy all the favourites, including:
• Premium sliced meats and charcuterie
• Whole chilled salmon fillets
• Artisan cheeses
• Fresh seasonal fruits
• Gourmet finger foods
• Fresh breads and crackers
• Beautiful sweet treats and desserts
The added advantage is that platters can remain refrigerated until the last possible moment, ensuring food stays fresh, safe, and at its best for your guests.

Easy, Safe, and Sustainable
All of our platters are presented on custom-made biodegradable black trays that are both stylish and practical. They make set-up quick and efficient, simplify clean-up at the end of the event, and are perfect for packaging any leftovers for guests to take home and enjoy
The result is all the visual impact of a grazing table, with better food safety, less waste, easier service, and a presentation that remains fresh and inviting throughout your celebration.
Drinks and Refreshments
Create a fun and interactive drinks station by hiring beverage dispensers and serving your own signature cocktails alongside non-alcoholic alternatives. Barrels filled with ice make perfect chillers for self-serve beers, wines, and soft drinks—and don't forget plenty of water to keep everyone refreshed.
